What is Allyvo?

Allyvo is an AI-native job search platform. It knows your resume, your skills, your preferences, and the jobs you’re tracking — and it uses all of that to analyze opportunities, score your fit, generate tailored documents, and help you through the search via a conversational assistant. The AI isn’t bolted on; it’s how the whole thing works.

What started as a personal tool built by someone who unexpectedly found themselves looking for a job, grew into Allyvo after others encouraged building it into something that could help more people. Job-seekers are often stretched thin — financially and emotionally — and deserve access to tools that work for them, not against them. That means no dark patterns, no aggressive upsells, and a sustainable model that doesn’t depend on exploiting the people it’s meant to help.

How does the AI work?

When you upload your resume and talk to the chat assistant, Allyvo builds a picture of who you are professionally — your skills, experience, education, preferences. That picture isn’t just stored; it actively feeds into everything else you do on the platform.

Resume parsing. Upload a PDF or DOCX and the AI automatically reads it and pulls out the structure: skills, work history, education, certifications. This costs about a credit, most users cover it with their starter credits, and you generally only need to do it once. This is what makes matching, document generation, and the chat assistant useful — they all draw from the same parsed profile.

Job analysis. When you add a job — paste a description or drop in a URL — the AI pulls it apart: required skills, nice-to-haves, responsibilities, red flags, experience level.

Match scoring. Once your profile and a job are both in the system, the AI compares them. You get a 0–100 fit score with a breakdown of what matches, what’s missing, how your experience lines up, any conflicts with your preferences, and recommendations. Scores are intentionally realistic — 70–80% is strong.

Document generation. You can generate a polished resume from your full profile, a targeted resume tuned to a specific job posting, or a cover letter. The output quality depends on how complete your profile is — the chat assistant will help you fill in gaps.

Chat assistant. A conversational assistant that knows your profile, your tracked jobs, and what you’ve discussed before. You can use it to build out your profile, search for jobs, generate documents, identify skill gaps that keep showing up across the jobs you’re targeting, or just ask questions about your search. It remembers context across sessions through automatic summarization.

Profile Studio. Your profile in Allyvo mirrors the structure of a LinkedIn profile — headline, about section, work experience, skills, education. The assistant can analyze individual sections and suggest improvements. Once your Allyvo profile is in good shape, you can copy that content into LinkedIn to quickly improve your recruiter-facing profile there.

When your profile changes, match scores from before the change are flagged as potentially outdated, so you’re not making decisions based on stale numbers.

How do I get an account?

Allyvo is currently invite-only during our beta phase. If you don’t have an invite yet, you can join the waitlist — when a spot opens up, you’ll receive an email with an invite link. If you already have an invite, head to the Sign Up page to create your account.

Is Allyvo free?

New accounts receive 100 starter credits ($1.00 worth) to explore the platform. When you need more, credit packs are available for purchase from the Billing page. We keep costs transparent — one credit equals one cent of actual AI processing cost.

What can I track?

Each application tracks the full picture:

  • Status lifecycle — New → Applied → Interviewing → Offer, Rejected, or Withdrawn. Key dates are tracked along the way: when you added it, when you applied, first response, and final decision.
  • Interview rounds — Structured tracking for each interview: type (technical, behavioral, panel, etc.), format (phone, video, in-person), scheduled and actual dates, interviewers, outcome, and your notes.
  • Match analysis — Each application can have an AI-generated match score and breakdown (see “How does the AI work?” above).
  • Preference conflicts — When a job conflicts with your stated preferences — salary, location, remote work — Allyvo flags it. You can acknowledge conflicts you’re okay with so they don’t keep surfacing.
  • Documents — Generate a targeted resume and cover letter for each application, stored alongside the job for easy access.
  • Timeline events — Interview dates, follow-ups, response deadlines, and other milestones.

You can also backdate applications if you’re adopting Allyvo mid-search — just set a past applied date when adding a job to bring in your existing history.

Can I search for jobs on Allyvo?

Yes. Allyvo has built-in job search powered by Adzuna, a job search aggregator that pulls listings from across the web — including major job boards and company career pages. You can search by keywords, location, and salary range directly from the app, or ask the chat assistant to search for you. When you find something interesting, you can import it into your tracker with one click.

What are credits?

Credits are how we measure AI usage on Allyvo. One credit equals one cent ($0.01) of actual AI processing cost. When you use an AI feature — like analyzing a job posting or matching your resume — the real cost of that operation is deducted from your credit balance.

Different AI features use different models with different costs, and credits reflect that directly. A quick job analysis costs a fraction of a credit, while a deep resume match costs more because it uses a more capable (and more expensive) model.

How many credits do I get?

New accounts receive 100 starter credits ($1.00 worth) to get going. After that, you can purchase credit packs from the Billing page:

  • 500 credits — $5
  • 1,000 credits — $10
  • 2,500 credits — $25

Credits persist until used — there is no monthly reset. Purchased credits expire one year from your most recent purchase, but any new purchase resets the clock on your entire balance.

How are credits calculated?

Internally, credits are tracked in deci-credits — tenths of a credit (tenths of a cent). When you use an AI feature, the actual cost of the operation is rounded up to the nearest deci-credit. For example:

  • An operation that costs $0.00234 is charged as 3 deci-credits ($0.003) — the rounding margin is $0.00066.
  • An operation that costs $0.00291 is charged as 3 deci-credits ($0.003) — the rounding margin is $0.00009.

The rounding margin varies per operation, but it’s always less than a tenth of a cent. That margin is how the platform sustains itself — it covers infrastructure costs and funds the starter credits that new users receive when they sign up. There are no subscriptions, no feature tiers, and no hidden fees. Think of it like a prepaid transit card: you load it up, use it, and the system takes care of itself.

Both the charged amount and the actual underlying cost are recorded in an auditable ledger for every operation, so the margin is fully transparent. Failed operations are never charged.

You can view your credit usage, remaining balance, and a detailed history of every AI operation from the Billing page in your account settings.

What AI features use credits?
Feature What it does Avg cost
Job Analysis Extracts skills, responsibilities, and red flags from a job posting — paste a description or drop in a URL ~1 credit
Resume Parse Reads and structures your resume for use across the platform ~1 credit
Resume Match Compares your resume against a job and scores your fit ~2.5 credits
Chat Assistant Conversational help with your job search workflow and profile building ~2 credits per message
Document Generation Creates a generalized resume, job-targeted resume, or cover letter from your profile ~2–3 credits
Chat Summary Automatically condenses long conversations so the Chat Assistant stays accurate and cost-efficient <1 credit
Search Suggestions Suggests relevant job search terms based on your profile <1 credit

Chat costs average ~2 credits per message and vary with message length.

Your first few sessions with the chat assistant tend to be longer as it walks you through building out your profile. After that, costs settle into the per-message averages above.

What happens when I run out of credits?

If you don’t have enough credits remaining for an operation, we’ll let you know before anything runs. The error message tells you how many credits the operation needs and how many you have left. You can purchase more credits from the Billing page in your account settings.

For bulk operations like refreshing all your match scores at once, we check upfront whether you have enough credits for the entire batch. This prevents you from burning through credits partway through and getting an incomplete result.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your data is isolated at the database level so no other user can access your information. We never sell your data, and you can export or delete it at any time. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

What browsers are supported?

Allyvo works in all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. We recommend keeping your browser up to date for the best experience. The desktop experience is where we’ve focused so far — mobile browsers work and you can get things done, but we’re still actively improving that experience.

How do I report a bug or get help?

The chat assistant can do more than answer job search questions — it can also submit bug reports, feature requests, and general feedback directly to the development team on your behalf. Just describe the issue or idea in the chat and it will offer to send it along. It will always ask for your permission before submitting anything.

For account-specific issues, you can also reach out directly at [email protected].

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account and all associated data from your account settings. Deletion is permanent and removes all your jobs, events, and profile information. See our Privacy Policy for data retention details.
